Overview

The primary purpose of this position is to support the shipping of freight in a safe manner while minimizing damage to product to service customers and maintain high level of on time delivery.

What you will do:

* Obtain a forklift certification.

* Follow all forklift rules and safety regulations

* Keep all doorways, aisles, electrical panel boxes, and fire extinguishers clear at all times

* Perform daily safety checklist for lift

* Notify supervisor of any damage to forklift, material or buildings immediately

* Keep bays of material in order and organized and safe

* Keep bays at least 18 inches away from wall and maintain proper aisle ways.

* Maintain a safe and organized shipping area and warehouse per 5S standards.

* Make sure all units are packaged for damage free shipping

* Load and unload units to the Lantech shrink wrap machine and attach cartons to skid labels using RF system. Take material to truck staging areas and keep outgoing shipments organized.

* Safely and securely load trucks.

* Willingness to work overtime on short notice as needed to ship product complete and on time.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

* Ability to read, follow, and understand work instructions from both written and verbal sources and basic writing skills.

* Ability to learn the shipping process and system tools related to shipping material. In addition, must learn the quality standards associated with the shipping department.

* Ability to lift up to 35lbs, stand, bend, stoop, lift, and move throughout the shift.

* Must have good hand eye coordination and be mechanically adaptable to using forklift controls.

* Exposure to normal factory environment: dust, heat, and noise. Candidate must be able to withstand heat more than 95 degrees.

* Excellent attendance record
