Job Description :
The Shipping Clerk is responsible for coordinating and executing shipping activities to ensure accurate, timely, and efficient processing of outgoing orders. This role involves preparing shipments, verifying documentation, and maintaining records while ensuring compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Order Processing:
    • Accurately pick, pack, and prepare products for shipment according to customer orders.
    • Verify the accuracy of outgoing shipments by checking items, quantities, and documentation.
  • Shipping Coordination:
    • Schedule and coordinate shipments with carriers and freight forwarders.
    • Generate and print shipping labels, packing slips, and other necessary documentation.
    • Ensure proper packaging to prevent damage during transit.
  • Inventory Management:
    • Assist with inventory control by updating inventory systems when orders are shipped.
    • Perform cycle counts and report discrepancies.
  • Documentation:
    • Maintain accurate records of all outgoing shipments, including tracking numbers and carrier details.
    • Prepare and file all shipping-related documents in compliance with company policies and regulations.
  • Customer Service:
    • Communicate with customers and internal departments to provide shipping status updates.
    • Resolve shipping issues, delays, or discrepancies promptly.
  • Compliance:
    • Ensure that all shipments comply with domestic and international shipping regulations, including customs documentation.
    • Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures (SOPs) during all shipping activities.
  • Equipment Operation:
    • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment as needed.
    • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on shipping equipment.
Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • High school diploma or equivalent; additional coursework in logistics or supply chain management is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Prior experience in a shipping, receiving, or warehouse environment preferred.
  • Skills:
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
    • Proficiency in using shipping software, inventory management systems, and MS Office.
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift and move packages weighing up to 40pounds.
    • Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
Work Environment:
  • This position is based in a warehouse environment, which may involve exposure to varying temperatures, noise levels, and equipment.
Additional Requirements:
  • Valid driver's license may be required if responsible for arranging transportation.
  • Forklift certification is a plus.
Schedule: M-F 7am-3:30pmSalary Expectations:$18hr. We offer competitive compensation & benefits package:
