Key Responsibilities:
- Order Processing & Shipment Coordination
- Prepare shipping documents such as bills of lading, invoices, and packing lists.
- Track shipments and communicate with logistics to ensure on-time delivery.
Inventory Management:
- Maintain accurate records of outgoing shipments and ensure they are properly documented.
- Assist with inventory counts and update the system with shipment information.
- Identify any discrepancies between order specifications and shipping documents.
Quality Control:
- Inspect products before shipping to ensure they meet the company's quality standards.
- Ensure packaging meets food safety and industry regulations.
- Report any damaged or incorrect products to the supervisor.
Compliance & Safety:
- Follow all relevant food safety protocols, including handling and packaging regulations.
- Ensure that all shipments are compliant with USDA regulations and customer specifications.
- Maintain a clean and organized shipping area in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
Communication & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the production team to ensure accurate and timely shipment of products.
- Communicate with the sales about shipping statuses and resolve any issues that arise.
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external partners.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in a shipping, logistics, or warehouse role (preferably in a food production environment).
- Experience in the poultry or meat industry is a plus.
Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Basic math skills for counting inventory and verifying shipments.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs).
- Comfortable working in cold or refrigerated environments.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
