Position Title: Shipping Clerk Salary Classification: Non-Exempt Reports to: Manufacturing Supervisor Supervises: N/A Summary: As a Shipping Clerk, you will play a crucial role in coordinating the shipment of products, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all shipping activities. You will play a vital role in preparing packages, verifying contents, and organizing shipments to ensure timely delivery. Your attention to detail and commitment to quality will contribute to the smooth and efficient operation of our shipping processes. Schedule: 7am- 3:30pm JOB DUTIES - Include but are not limited to the following:
- Prepare packages for shipment by carefully selecting appropriate packaging materials (boxes, containers, padding) based on the nature of the products and shipping requirements.
- Pack items securely, ensuring proper cushioning, wrapping, and sealing to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify the accuracy of product quantities and inspect items for quality control before packaging.
- Generate shipping labels, affix them to packages, and ensure correct identification and labeling of each shipment.
- Utilize shipping software or systems (e.g., UPS, FedEx) to create shipping manifests and track packages throughout the shipping process.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring timely dispatch of shipments.
- Organize and stage packages for efficient loading and unloading, adhering to safety guidelines and shipping priorities.
- Maintain accurate records of packaged items, tracking numbers, and shipping documentation for proper inventory control and customer support.
- Collaborate with the warehouse team to coordinate order fulfillment, ensuring the availability of packaged products for timely shipment.
- Communicate with internal teams to provide shipment updates, resolve inquiries, and address any shipping-related issues.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a Shipping and Packaging Clerk or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of packaging techniques, shipping procedures, and documentation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to follow established guidelines.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and perform repetitive tasks.
