Shipping Clerk - Standex : Job Details

The Shipping Clerk will support the Shipping team to achieve effective distribution of goods. The Shipping Clerk must be a highly organized, detail-Oriented, person. They must be able to follow multi-step processes, easily take direction, and check their own work for accuracy to eliminate mistakes. The Shipping Clerk is encouraged to be involved in the project cycle from creative solution, development, and project completion, to ongoing process improvement. The successful candidate would have an entrepreneurial mindset and would seek improvement in all facets of the position.

What You'll Do

• Communicate with logistics providers to coordinate and schedule pick-ups.
• Process shipments by referencing customers' routing guides and company policies.
• Generate freight/shipping quotations per customers' or sales representatives' requests.
• Perform accurate data entry of tracking numbers into internal system and web portal.
• Interact with customers (internal and external) and carriers to assure customer satisfaction.
• Communicate any unresolved issues to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

• High School Diploma required, Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred
• Must be proficient in MS Office
• Knowledge of ERP based systems recommended
• Must have good communication and interpersonal skills to communicate rapidly and effectively within the organization and to represent the company in a professional manner
• Must be willing and able to independently pursue assignments with maximum problem-solving resolve and minimal supervision, but must also readily ask for direction and help when needed
• Ability to shift priorities as needed and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass drug screen and background check
• Works closely with other departments to resolve receiving related issues.
