Job Summary: Dispatcher is an outbound dispatching position for this facility. They will know how many trucks are scheduled per day and are responsible for obtaining coverage for each shipment. Dispatcher will be tracking shipments and giving updates to customer service and/or sales team from the time the load is booked, through point of final delivery. They will be working hand in hand with the shipping clerks and the shipping lead to create daily plans of expectations and awareness for trucks being shipped. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor schedule of sales orders for our facility and watch for updates.
  • Dispatch truckloads with SAP and monitor through SAPi and Fourkites.
  • Obtaining and providing updates to all parties involved with an order.
  • Work with sales representatives to pass along messages from carriers or change already created truckloads to match customer updates.
  • Work with shipping lead on urgent additions or urgent cancellations to truckloads assigned.
  • Assist with training new clerks.
  • Work with Distribution Mgr on new rate submissions and carrier meetings or communications.
  • Follow radio procedure for plantwide communication and safety.
  • Work with other departments to coordinate deliveries and shipments to and from the facility.
  • Keep office tidy and stocked.
  • Will act as backup for shipping clerks when needed.
  • Follow and utilize the Carlisle Operating System containing 5S, continuous improvement, waste reduction, standard work, and problem solving.
Required Skills and Abilities:
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Some mathematical comprehension necessary.
  • Ability to create a welcoming environment.
Education and Experience:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Office and/or Shipping experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with the trucking industry.
  • Experience in shipping and inventory management.
  • Experience with safety policies and procedures.
