Whether you will spend your day in an office cubicle, operating a crane or running the melt shop at one of our mills, at CMC, you'll get the training and support from your team that you need to excel in your role and reach your full potential.What You'll DoOperate mobile equipment such as Forklifts, overhead cranes, etcCommunicate and coordinate with crew members to sustain a quality finished product that meets or exceeds customer expectations and is sustained within specificationsCorrect loading of finished product bundles onto a flatbed trailerProperly read and execute pick ticket loading instructions and recognize the distinction between productsExecute standard operating procedures when loading trucks and railcarsAbility to properly use scanner equipment to scan material into inventory and onto shipmentsParticipate in the CMC Safety Programs and proactively uphold the CMC Safety CultureWork safely to prevent on the job injuries by following safety rules and regulations at all times including proper wearing of company PPEUnderstand start up, shutdown, and emergency proceduresResponsible for daily housekeeping duties including but not limited to immediate work areaTroubleshoot work related problems using job knowledge, experience, and by communicating with othersWhat You'll NeedMinimum 1 year field experience in either heavy industrial operations and/or manufacturing environment preferredAbility to operate fork lift and overhead crane requiredMust be able to work a 12 hour shift, which includes overtime, weekends and holidaysAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 50 lbsAbility to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment, with excellent work ethic, attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to work with exposure to extreme temperatures, chemicals, dust fumes and mists, uneven surfaces, loud noise, elevated work areas, and confined spacesAbility to stand for duration of a shift, up to 12 hours; frequent physical activity such as walking, climbing stairs or reaching to work with equipment throughout the entire shiftDependability in attendance, work completion, and flexibility to meet business needsBasic computer skillsStrong communication skills required.
