Job Summary: The Material Transfer Associate is responsible for the safe and efficient movement, handling, and tracking of materials within the warehouse to/from production facility. This role involves coordinating the transfer of raw materials, finished goods, and supplies between storage locations, workstations, and shipping/receiving areas. The Material Transfer Associate ensures that all transfers comply with company policies, safety standards, and quality requirements. Key Responsibilities:
Material Handling and Transfers: - Transport materials, products, and equipment within the warehouse using forklifts, pallet jacks, or other material-handling tools.
- Accurately pick, pack, and stage materials for transfer or production based on job orders and schedules.
- Verify material labels, quantities, and condition during transfers to ensure accuracy and quality.
Inventory Management: - Assist inventory tracking by recording material movements in warehouse management systems (WMS) & Material Transfer forms.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Ensure materials are stored in designated locations to maintain organization and accessibility.
Collaboration and Communication: - Work closely with warehouse, production, and logistics teams to coordinate material flow and meet operational deadlines.
- Communicate any delays, shortages, or issues to the appropriate departments.
Safety and Compliance: - Follow company safety policies and guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Operate material-handling equipment safely and report any malfunctions or hazards.
- Maintain compliance with workplace and industry regulations regarding the storage and handling of materials.
Documentation and Reporting: - Accurately complete and maintain transfer logs, manifests, and other required documentation.
- Assist with preparing reports on material transfers, inventory levels, and process improvements as needed.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience: Previous experience in warehouse operations, material handling, or a related field (preferred).
- Skills:
- Drivers license (required) - Class C
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other material-handling equipment (certification preferred).
- Ability to operate DOT certified box truck for transporting material to/from warehouse & production plant.
- Basic computer skills and familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or inventory software.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy materials (up to 75lbs) regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
