Job Description Summary Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties. This is a Monday through Friday, 8-hour, day shift position. Must be able to work overtime on occasion, including weekends. Job Description Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
- Determines method of shipment.
- Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons.
- Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers.
- Inserts items into containers.
- Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape.
- Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers. Enters weights in OSS.
- Ships UPS via Clipper ship.
- Unpacks and examines incoming shipments for damage or shortages, and notifies supervisor and/or purchasing if there is any. Enters receipts in oracle.
- Routes items to departments.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications.
- Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies.
- Operates tier lift truck or uses hand truck to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shipping and receiving platform to storage or work area.
- Perform 5S functions to ensure safety, quality and performance is achieved.

Education/Experience: - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Ability: - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Math Ability: - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Reasoning Ability: - Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

- While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles; extreme cold; extreme heat and vibration.

- The employee is regularly required to lift up to 25 pounds. The employee is occasionally required to lift-up to 50 pounds. The vision requirements include: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Assembler is required to pass a spirometry fit test with a N95 mask that is required in several operations.
