Shipping/Receiving ClerkJob Description Work independently in a fast paced office. Accurately receive incoming shipments and prepares outgoing shipments. Maintain detailed records while following procedures set into place. The job requires communication with warehouse employees and often requires work on the warehouse floor to get job duties complete. Duties and Responsibilities
- Able to Multi-task and prioritize workload. Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills. Strong interpersonal and team skills are essential.
- Maintains customer records by updating account information.
- Receives and processes all inbound and outbound freight.
- Prepares orders for shipment in WMS.
- Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet requirements.
- Verifies inbound receipts for accuracy
- Examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages and corresponds with shipper/customer to rectify damages and shortages..
- Accurately processes customer orders into WMS system, ensuring that all proper details are properly applied to orders.
- Communicate effectively with external shipping warehouse regarding shipments, issues, etc.
- Manage Inventory and maintain accurate information within our computer system and software.
- Responds promptly to customers, acknowledging & resolving issues/complaints.
- Maintains cleanliness throughout the warehouse and carries out facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Organizes warehouse and work area for orderliness.
- Maintain a positive work environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with WMS system (Camelot, Navis) a plus.
QualificationsEducation/Experience
- Minimum high school diploma required. Some college preferred but not required.
- 3-5 Years previous customer service, administrative, or call center experience required.
- Logistics experience preferred but not required.
Skills
- WPM (Typing Speed) - 30 WPM
- Ability to calculate in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
Reasoning Ability
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Language Skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
