We are too! Scope of Position At the Buursma Plant, we produce carts for waste and recycling. As a Shipping/Receiving Technician at Cascade Engineering, you will work with a supportive, collaborative and dynamic team while being responsible for all shipping and receiving functions and some production handling support. Additionally, you will be performing receiving procedures to input/receive incoming components. You will work closely with the production team and be responsible for several production support functions. Location: Buursma Plant 4950 37th St. SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512 Shift: Nights from 6pm - 6:10am (3 days one week, 4 days the next and every other weekend) Target Pay: $19.50 - $24.15/hour (plus shift premium of $1.20 and quarterly bonus incentive) What You'll Be DoingDay to Day - Responsible for utilizing all equipment, including forklift, and performing all tasks in a safe manner. Create BOL's (Bill of Lading) and enter in receivers. Help direct shipping techs on what needs to be accomplished each day on both inbound and outbound loads. You will also be responsible for checking the press schedule daily and understanding what is being produced during the shift on each press. Must have the ability to work inside and outside throughout the shift in all types of weather Collaboration - Participates on cross-function teams. Leadership and communication skills with other plants and carriers. While having the ability to work independently, you will also be required to work closely with the team to ensure finished goods are scanned into trailers and coordinate trailer movement with internal truck drivers Shipping/Receiving Tasks - Maintains finished goods warehouse organization. Loads and stacks shipments per traffic schedule. Ensures accuracy of shipping request and pre-shipper records. Notifies SCM of inventory accuracy and discrepancies. Understands and practices basic FIFO. FG cart warehousing - reviews incoming cart schedule (mods), plans cart location and organization, FIFO carts on standards. Work to be performed primarily in non-temperature-controlled warehouse. Works closely with traffic coordinator and truck schedule on cart programs, reviews their ship dates for daily shipments. Knowledge and familiarity with cart loading and unloading - Cart sizes, load sheets, serial numbers, CMV scanning, etc. Hours - Required to work overtime and may be required to work 7 days a week as needed, and will have to rotate on a schedule for weekend duties At Cascade Engineering, we welcome and celebrate diversity and inclusion. Requirements
  • High school diploma/GED with at least 2 years' Shipping/Receiving experience (or equivalent per ladder)
  • Strong CE core competencies (interpersonal skills, emotional maturity)
  • Strong math and communication skills
  • Able to multi-task while maintaining consistency and accuracy in all work
  • Understanding of ISO procedures
  • Basic computer skills, including Net UI, Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Able to perform basic data entry tasks
  • Bar code scanning, and CMV, 4.1 transfers
  • Inventory control, material handling and cycle counting experience
  • Understanding of BOM requirements and processing
  • Valid Driver's license or be able to use all 4 limbs such as arms, legs (upper and lower limbs), torso/trunk at the shoulder. Have coordination of eyes, hands and feet. Not have any known/documented convulsive disorders and corrected vision (obtain doctor's note verifying proof of the corrected vision)
  • Valid forklift Tag with one year experience driving forklift
  • Experience maintaining shipping paperwork, BOL's and creating shipments for external customers
