JOB OVERVIEW Overall responsibilities include receiving, unpacking, verifying, and recording incoming parts and material as well as distributing and staging inventory and WIP to internal customers. The Shipping/Receiving/Material Handling Personnel position verifies and maintains records on incoming shipments in addition to preparing orders for shipment ensuring proper counts, labeling, packaging, and processing of paperwork. This position also moves materials, WIP, finished goods, or other product between work centers, staging for vendors, and assists with other moves throughout facilities assuring proper safety protocols and procedures are followed. ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Follow safe manufacturing and material handling practices.
- Communicate material/inventory discrepancies.
- Use computer systems for inventory purposes.
- Use forklift or other powered industrial equipment to move products around in work area.
- Maintain necessary clerical records pertinent to the function of the position.
- Verification and processing of all incoming shipments to Robinson Inc., including counting of parts, general inspection for damages, and processing of pack slips.
- Coordinate material moves to and from work centers and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization.
- Communicate and work well with other departments and team members.
- Exhibit ability to prioritize and plan work activities, manage time efficiently and meet objectives to complete projects.
- Demonstrate teamwork by working well with others, helping, responding positively to feedback.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Must be able to work outside in all types of weather elements and conditions.
- Other job duties as assigned per the needs of production.
- Encourages company initiatives like safety, LEAN manufacturing practices, and 6S.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Experience with a Windows-based computer system.
- Ability to operate a forklift in conjunction with all safety rules and regulations.
- Ability to read and comprehend documents such as sales orders, slips, inventory records, and receiving documents.
PREFERRED SKILLS
- 1-3 years' experience.
- Experience with an ERP such as Syteline or CSI.
- Good references with excellent work attendance and attitude.
- Effective communication skills.
- Ability to multitask and problem solve.
- Attention to detail.
- Able to prioritize tasks and responsibilities.
- Highly organized.
- Deadline orientated.
- Strong 6S & inventory background with sound material flow practices, including F.I.F.O.
- Mathematical and analytical skills.
