You'll be part of a talented group that collaborates to deliver world-class products to our customers. You will be involved in overseeing the efficient handling of incoming and outgoing shipments. This includes unloading, inspecting, and organizing materials while ensuring compliance with quality and quantity standards. You will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, operating equipment safely, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate smooth delivery schedules. Additionally, the role involves overseeing packaging processes to prevent damage during shipping, capturing accurate dimensions and weights for outbound packages, and utilizing transportation management systems for cost-effective and timely transport. Shifts available: Monday through Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PMA variety of these traits will help land you this job if you have:
  • a High School diploma or equivalent GED
  • 2 years of experience in shipping/receiving roles preferred
  • printing industry experience is a plus
  • manufacturing experience in a production setting
On top of that you must:
  • be able to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. Strong interpersonal skills including, demonstrated listening skills and the ability to present ideas and thoughts concisely and effectively both internally and outside the organization
  • have basic computer skills, including Pace and Google
  • be self-motivated, a fast learner, and show initiative to seek out customer and corporate needs
  • be able to be flexible and reprioritize as needed based on business needs.
  • obtain strong organizational skills to handle multiple projects at the same time, while keeping records detailed and accurate.
In this position, you will:
  • manage the receipt of incoming shipments, including unloading, unpacking, and organizing materials efficiently.
  • inspect all materials received for discrepancies, damage, and quality issues. Promptly report any discrepancies to the relevant personnel.
  • verify the accuracy of received goods by comparing packing lists with the corresponding purchase orders and ensuring compliance with quality and quantity standards.
  • maintain accurate records and documentation for all received materials, ensuring proper labeling, and organization of records for inventory management.
  • properly move, sort, and store received materials in designated storage areas or production locations.
  • safely operate all equipment and machinery, including forklifts and pallet jacks, following established safety protocols and guidelines.
  • maintain a clean and organized work environment, including the dock area, to ensure a safe and efficient workspace.
  • effectively communicate with suppliers, carriers, and internal stakeholders to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues.
  • ensures packaging of product is sufficient enough so no damage occurs during shipping
  • captures all accurate dimensions and weights for all outbound packages.
  • processes shipments on FedEx, UPS and TBG's internal transportation management system for the most effective transport in the most cost effective and timely fashion.
  • collaborates with the Production Lead, Shipping, to track and monitor packaged material inventory and ensure that materials are maintained at an adequate level in order to meet packaging production shipping demands.
  • communicates any concerns about packaging inventory meeting limited quantity thresholds so that the production lead can order more inventory in a timely fashion.
  • contribute to process improvement initiatives to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of the shipping/receiving process.
  • utilize best practices for reduction of cost.
  • perform miscellaneous projects and complete various tasks as requested by management.
