Title: Shipping & Receiving Team Lead

Pay Range: $17.00 – $20.00 per hour full-time position with overtime as needed.
Shift/Schedule: Day shift – Monday to Friday: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
Location: West Des Moines, IA
SUMMARY This position is responsible for the performance and leadership of all aspects of the Shipping and Receiving department. The Team Leader will ensure their team is continuously improving on, as well as meeting or exceeding key targeted performance metrics. The Team Leader must have excellent team skills including the ability to build trust, manage conflict, hold staff and themselves accountable to management and their peers all while be goal/results driven. Other duties as assigned by upper management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Receive raw material and receive them into our ERP system, and then put them in the proper location.
- Package and prepare daily shipments in accordance with customer requirements.
- Verify material at the completion of the shop order.
- Maintain 100% inventory accuracy for all inventory in the operating system.
- Create and maintain efficient organization of all materials.
- Ensure material flow is consistent with FIFO guidelines.
- Identify, justify, and reconcile inventory discrepancies.
- Prepare bills of lading and schedule freight pick up as needed.
- Recommendations of staff based on the needs of the department.
- Develop and train direct reports.
- Resolve team members' issues and problems and consult with the Plant Manager (as necessary) to resolve.
- Maintain compliance to current regulatory standards and customer specific requirements as applicable.
- Lead by a positive example.
- Develops and administers schedules and performance requirements.
JOB REQUIREMENTS - Occasional lifting of 20-40lbs.
- Standing or sitting for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to read measurements on yard sticks, meter sticks or tape measures.
- Ability to understand written and verbal instructions.
- Must be able to work alongside others as well as independently.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to give and receive corrective criticism and guidance.
- Constant professional interaction with subordinates, customers, other members of the leadership team.
