The Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Forklift Operator works in a fast pace environment and ensures that finished product is loaded into freights, the warehouse, or designated area in a safe and proper manner. In doing so the operator utilizes a scanner or computer to track orders. The Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Forklift Operator works closely with the RTE department transferring finished product into designated locations. The Shipping department is the final stage before the product is shipped out and require close attention to finalizing in preparing goods to excellent quality standards. The Operator adhere to Ensure Food Safety System are adhered to in all processes. Safety Ability: Promote a safety first culture by following all safety rules (including Lockout/Tag out, Confined Space, Fall Protection and Hazard Communication). Report all near misses, Injuries, and documentation of incidents to Shift Supervisor/Production Supervisor/LeadsQuality Ability: Perform all duties in accordance with Quality and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) established company policies and procedures.Continuous Improvement: Responsible for Active participation in continuous improvement teams and processes.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Shipping/Receiving/Warehouse Forklift Operator
- Load and unload products using forklift trucks.
- Load trucks (floor loaded and or on pallets) and return left overs back to proper locater.
- Maintain the stability of the pallet by properly stacking and if needed shrink wrap it before storing.
- Prepare goods for shipments into freights or designated locations.
- Store/scan finish goods in proper warehouse/racks and locations.
- Pick by order by working from order sheets to build loads for shipments.
- Complete daily forklift inspection reports and maintain records onsite.
- Perform general housekeeping in the warehouses and racking areas.
- Maintain quality standards by making sure that all finish goods shipping are in good quality, if not must repack and or replace.
- Pay close attention to details, scanning and uploading information.
- Report any product discrepancies to Lead/Supervisor immediately.
- Examine and inspect containers, materials, and product to ensure that packaging specifications are met.
- Responsible for inbound packaging and turning in right after off-loading.
- Store and pull all packaging under FIFO (first in first out) process.
- Supply packaging materials on time to RTE, Raber building and building 7 to prevent any down time.
- Scan proper quantity, lot#, and locator when storing and or supplying to packing departments.
- Load and scan to proper locater all FG into shuttle trailer.
- Supply WIP to Kernel process, Roasting, RTE, Raber building, Building 7 on time.
- Bring bins down for FMO's and bins for QC to review for PPO on time for testing and or inspecting.
- Load/Unload (Gerawan, PPO, purchased WIP etc.), store and scan to proper locaters.
- Store All WIP from processes in correct warehouse and scan to proper locations.
- Must try to prevent any finish goods, packaging, and WIP getting wet and or damage, if damage is identified report immediately and store and scan to proper hold locations.
- Do not store and or ship finish goods, WIP, packaging with QC hold tags. Items with hold tags must store and scan to proper hold locaters.
- Safety awareness when using or working around a forklift.
- Move trailers with yard goat when required (must be trained and certified by Nichols Farms staff).
- Assist with fumigation process.
- Dump shell when needed.
- Follow and comply with established procedures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices.
- Provide security/observation checks when necessary of the Plant.
- May assist at the scale house with inbound and outbound traffic/freights.
- May assist in tracking and logging in and distribution of packages and mail throughout the plant.
- Perform other job duties and tasks as assigned by supervisor or management.
POSITION REQUIREMENT:
- At least 2 years of experience driving industrial trucks.
- Preferably 1 year of experience in food manufacturing environment.
- Able to use computer for tracking and or emailing purposes.
- Experience and knowledge working in a shipping, warehouse, and/or receiving working environment.
- Forklift Driver Certification preferred.
- Scanning experience preferred
- Math Skills and computer skills a plus.
- Ability to work any day and/or shift including weekends and holidays.
- Read and write English preferred
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Team player, able to lead and ability to get along in a group environment
- Strong communication skills and follow directions.
- Reliable attendance is an essential function on the job.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENTFacility is a manufacturing environment, and this position may primarily be outdoors. The manufacturing environment and working outdoors may include high levels of noise. When working outdoors conditions can include extreme cold, heat, or humidity; and sometimes can include work in dusty conditions. Ability to lift up/pull to 50 pounds on occasion. Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as designated by the company. Position requires standing, sitting, and walking on a regular basis for prolonged periods. Near vison-ability to see details at close range. Ability to continuously use trunk strength-abdominal and lower back to support repeated bodily movement.
