SUMMARY Performs a variety of routine and specialized shipping tasks such as, processing shipments in various transport systems, preparing shipment documents including packing slips, commercial invoices, & BOL's, comparing identifying information on outgoing shipments with packing slips or other documents to ensure accuracy. Prepares outgoing shipments for pick-up and updates ERP system and internal customers as needed. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Collaborates and communicates with logistics team members, account managers, freight carriers, and others involved in the shipment of parts and products.
- Prepares shipments for postal or commercial transport; determines most economical and efficient shipping method or customer preferred method; selects appropriate shipping container; ensures all shipment receive the proper labeling and charges; packs items to ensure safe delivery.
- Prepares bills of lading; checks items to be shipped against orders to ascertain that quantities, destination, and routing are correct.
- Sorts, counts, packages, labels, insures, and/or logs inventory when shipped.
- Enters all shipping data into the ERP system daily, accurately, and completely.
- Completes international bills of lading and documentation.
- Tracks, traces, and updates the status of outgoing shipments as needed.
- Researches and traces lost shipments and/or customer claims of lost shipments, and initiates proof of shipment and related documents.
- Operates dolly, pallet jack, and/or forklift in loading shipments onto delivery and/or freight vehicles.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Engages with vendors and drivers with a positive attitude.
- Provides additional backup support for receiving and transportation teams.
- Performs other duties as directed by leadership.

- High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Previous experience with Microsoft Excel or similar application beneficial.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of productivity while achieving quality workmanship to achieve established metrics.
- Experience with software such as Microsoft Excel and other company spreadsheet programs.
- Previous experience with logistics portals, such as FedEx, UPS, DHL, etc. strongly preferred; previous experience with similar online portal operation and navigation required.
- Ability to follow oral and written policies, procedures, and instructions.
- Interpersonal skills are essential, as working as a team is vital to maintaining an organized warehouse. Ability to effectively communicate with multiple levels and cross functionally.
- Experience using a forklift and professional forklift certification is strongly preferred.
- Ability to problem solve quickly and prioritize daily tasks according to their importance.
- Personal accountability and integrity are paramount, as this position is tasked with an accurate accounting of all inventory.
