Shop Foreman

Western States Fire Protection is looking for a Shop Foreman. This position will ensure duties listed below are consistently monitored and completed within WSFP values. Additionally, the ideal candidate will maintain the organization and efficiency of the shop supplies and processes.

Job Responsibilities

  • Organize and dispense material for delivery - quality control checks needed before materials hit the jobs
  • Daily receive material and distribute to jobs or trucks
  • Daily collect materials at vendor and deliver to job site
  • Monthly organize and maintain inventory
  • Maintain a clean shop and validating that special tools and shop equipment are in proper operating condition
  • Select, repair, and organize tools as needed
  • Willing to operate a forklift as well as other tools, equipment and machinery according to prescribed safety procedures
  • Write POs for the divisions in the branch
  • Reconcile POs in the system to ensure they are quickly received, paid, and completed on projects
  • Vehicle inspections are completed weekly, and action items are tracked; repairs are completed quickly
  • Forecast shop needs ahead of time as this ensures tools, safety equipment, vehicles, materials, and others are fully stocked without having to react to shortages causing delays and loss of production for the team
  • Develop your shop assistants to ensure production and quality work is produced for all the tasks assigned
  • Schedule repairs for the building with preferred vendors and keep up with the maintenance of the building
  • Help build processes for each task including assisting with other Texas branches - Corpus Christi and Donna
  • Manage costs by tracking WSFP assets to ensure expensive tools, equipment, and others are logged and current records remain in place to avoid losses
  • Be a part of our Safety Culture by ensuring all trucks, tools, and equipment are properly verified for quality and assigned to others with Safety in mind
  • Other duties are assigned

Job Qualifications

  • Construction industry experience is preferred
  • Fabrication experience is a plus
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Possess a valid driver's license with a clean record - in accordance with company policy
  • Will to pass a post-offer background check and drug test
  • Intermediate computer skills and able to work with Excel and Word

Working Conditions

Moderate standing, walking, climbing, heaving lifting, carrying, stooping, bending, kneeling, and reaching. Work inside and outside, around moving objects and with vehicles and machinery with moving parts.
