The Shop Hand will work within a team environment and be responsible for the operation of miscellaneous processes supporting the production team. Additionally the Shop Hand will also be responsible for ensuring the continuous flow of materials and parts through the assigned cell.The Shop Hand will also:Assembly of manufactured parts following blueprint drawingsOperation of manufacturing process equipment (heat treat ovens, precision cleaning, broaching, polishing, and gear checking machines)Manufacture and/ or tests parts according to engineering and customer standards and specificationsBasic Lathe and Mill MachiningRemove burrs, sharp edges, tool marks and other irregularities from machined parts to ensure they are in accordance with engineering blueprints, and tolerance requirementsMaintain accurate and reliable documentationInspect and/or test related activities to ensure that parts are machined in accordance with manufacturing standards and blueprint specificationsOther duties as assignedQualificationsHigh School or GED required0-2 years of doing Bench AssemblyExperience in lathe and mill machining desirableOrganization skills for raw material, parts, shelf-life, and gage storageEffective interaction with team members, customers and all levels of managementAbility to follow all safety and planning instructions.Ability to read, understand, and correctly interpret basic blueprint drawingsPhysical lifting requirements include; ability to lift 50 pounds (4 inches to 25 inches), capable of pushing or pulling a weight of 60 pounds, a grip strength of at least 50 pounds, and be able to reach above the shoulder (65 inches).U. S. Citizenship status required.Position requires the ability to obtain a U. S. Government Security Clearance, if needed. Candidates selected may be subject to a U. S.
