Shop Supervisor - Talascend : Job Details

Talascend is currently seeking a Shop Supervisor for an opportunity in Detroit, MI. RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Collaborate with the Shop Manager, vendors, and maintenance team to address current equipment and facility issues.
• Oversee routine and emergency repairs alongside UAW mechanics.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of Preventive Maintenance and repair activities within the shop.
• Generate reports detailing maintenance, repairs, safety, and equipment or parts-related issues.
• Develop and implement equipment repair strategies in response to changing weather conditions, pre-determined events, or plant-related changes.
• Work closely with upper management to help budget for maintenance and equipment repairs.
• Oversee the installation, campaigns, and refurbishments of equipment.
• Ensure production standards are met for the skilled trades labor force.
• Manage and coordinate the UAW skilled trades labor force.
• Manage the flow of parts to the mechanics, ensuring timely availability.
• Collaborate with service managers to ensure necessary parts are available for repair jobs.
• Utilize strong organizational, project management, and leadership skills to prioritize and coordinate team efforts.

REQUIREMENTS:

• 100% onsite.
• Bachelor of Science Degree.
• Minimum of 2+ years of supervisory experience in an automotive or heavy equipment repair environment.
• Experience with equipment installations and refurbishments.
• Previous experience working with union employees.
• Ability to collaborate with experts across disciplines and organizations to develop and implement best practices.
