Pickle Research Campus in North Austin.PurposeWe are looking for a postdoctoral fellow to provide multi-phase flow simulation in support of modeling Hydrogen production from oil fields, modeling the role of in-situ combustion created heat on multiphase fluid flow and reaction.Responsibilities* Perform research.* Give presentations, put together reports, and communicate with IA members.* Publish related papers.Required QualificationsPhD in Petroleum Engineering or equivalent field. Knowledge of multi-phase flow of gases particularly methane and hydrogen. Coupling between flow of multi-phase fluids and heat sources. Thermal modeling subsurface reservoirs. Expertise with one or more multiphase flow simulation programs such as Eclipse, CMG, or Tough. Write reports and papers in International Journals.Proven capacity for innovative, creative scientific analysis. Ability to give presentations to operators and to academic audiences. Proven publication skills and verbal communication skills. Ability to work both independently and effectively in a group. Ability to work effectively with multiple disciplines, including engineers, data scientist, and geologists.PhD must have been received no later than 3 years from the date of posting.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge hydrogen thermodynamics. Kinetics of chemical reactions within fluids. Kinetics of relations in fluids and solid gas reactions and catalysts. Programing skills particularly in Python or C. Experience in the application of various advanced data analytics and statistical methodologies to problems. Strong background in using Python and packages for machine learning. Understanding of nano-technology.
