Community Care is hiring for a site-based pilot program providing support and assistance to family members or guardians who are caring for children with disabilities and who have qualified for respite services. The anticipated start of this program will be March or April. There may be an opportunity to begin employment earlier however.
The Site-Based DSRP will be part of a team that provides appropriate care to children while families are provided a planned break.
Respite services will be provided at the Community Care office on Saturdays.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Provide support and supervision to a small group of children at an office-based Respite Site.Assist children with positive behavior and well-being while in their care.Exercise good judgment.Provide services as scheduled, each Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m Completes Respite Daily Logs in accordance with program procedures and submits within 24 hoursAdheres to the agency's policies and procedures.Attends all scheduled supervisions, meetings, and trainings as assignedESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES, AND SKILLS:
An understanding of normative child Ability to respond calmly and competently to crisis Understanding of unconditional positive Understanding of professional boundaries and ability to set appropriateUnderstanding of the dynamics of working with children and families who have behavioral and emotionalEDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATES
- Minimum of 18 years of age or older;
- Minimum of a high school diploma/GED;
- At least 6 months of previously documented experience working with children/families
Must be able to pass background checks including DMV, CPS, APS, and Criminal checks.
