PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Provide overall on-site administrative and technical management at the construction site. Schedule, coordinate and supervise suppliers, subcontractors and employee activity.
TYPICAL DUTIES:
* Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule. Includes interfacing with client representatives, AE representatives, other contractors, etc.
* Plan, coordinate and supervise onsite functions (scheduling, engineering, material control).
* Supervise craft employees and/or other contractors as required.
* Provide technical assistance, i.e., interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc. as required.
* Assist project management in developing and implementing project procedures, working documents, standards, etc.
* Ensure all onsite personnel comply with project procedures, safety program requirements, work rules, etc. Document all violations, notify project management, recommend/implement corrective actions as required.
* Assume responsibility for productivity of crafts, efficient use of materials & equipment, and control performance of the project.
* Assist in resolving discrepancies in drawings and specifications or any other construction related issues.
COMMENTS:
Knowledge of multiple disciplines may be required. Makes decisions and recommendations which can greatly impact corporate relationship with Client and profitability of projects under his/her management. Acts without close supervision. Proven experience and judgement.
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
Educational and experience requirements include: 4-Year engineering or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or experience. 7-10 years of construction management and/or craft supervision experience in site utility construction. Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); jurisdiction, negotiations; engineering, cost control, schedules and construction safety required. Excellent communication, organizational and supervisory skills essential.
