OverviewAs a Boyne Mountain Ski Patroller you will monitor mountain areas for injured, reckless, and lost skiers and snowboarders. Watch for skiing hazards, provide first aid and other necessary assistance to skiers and snowboarders. You are responsible for safety on the ski slopes, by promoting ski safety, enforcing area policies where applicable. Patrollers are the first ones on the mountain and the last ones off each day. Work Where You Love To Play! at Boyne Mountain Resort.ResponsibilitiesThe Ski Patroller's typical job functions include:* Patrolling ski slopes to ensure guest safety* Enforcing area policies* Assisting and transporting injured skiers* Completing daily logs* Maintaining safety signage* Completing accident forms and required investigationsQualificationsThis position may be for you if:* You are at least 18 years old.* You have current EMT, OEC or equivalent certification* American Heart Association or Red Cross CPR/AED, training* You are an advanced or expert skier* You have additional first-aid experience or licensing recommended* You have ski patrol experience (preferred)* You are available to work days, nights, weekends and holidaysMust have the ability to:* ski/walk/sit for hours each day* work long hours (shifts generally run 9 hours/day, 7 days/week - depending on job status; FT or PT)* hike with skis and a pack* lift up to 50 pounds* carry up to 30 pounds
