As the Skill Builder and/or Peer Support Specialist, you will provide quality, and culturally informed, antiracist, gender affirming, equity focused, effective, quality peer support and/or skillbuilding to clients receiving services at the Looking Glass Counseling Program for mental health and/or substance use treatment. You will work closely with therapists to implement treatment plans as you support and promote clients to reach their treatment goals through a variety of methods. You will coordinate activities with other agencies, as appropriate, and identify community resources for clients and their families. Must drive own vehicle throughout Lane County to meet clients in their homes, at schools, or in the community.

The Counseling Program offers outpatient mental health services for anyone in our community who is experiencing difficulties in their life. Staff help families or individuals address a wide range of mental, emotional, behavioral, and situational issues. We take an individualized, strength-based, solution-focused approach to help clients and families meet their unique treatment goals.

In order to be successful in this role, you must be able to maintain a professional demeanor and uphold confidentiality. Qualified candidates have a bachelor's degree in a behavioral science field with 1 year of relevant work experience, or, a combination of 3 years of relevant work and education experience. You must be certifiable as a Qualified Mental Health Associate.

This position requires availability to meet the needs of assigned individuals. Some early evening work may be required.

In compliance with applicable laws and licensing requirements, Looking Glass Human Resources Department conducts a background check on all new employees, non-paid staff (volunteers and interns), and existing staff as required. This is completed by the Background Check Unit with the State of Oregon per the Oregon Administrative Rules.
