Position Summary:As a skilled laborer, your work sets the stage for the team to execute the job on time and to exceed the client's expectations. You are an integral part of our team in making sure our job sites are properly demolished and prepared. Demolition on our job sites typically includes sheetrock, ceiling grid/tiles, flooring, and floor grinding. As a laborer with Gardner, you are raising the bar and setting the platinum standard of excellence.Responsibilities:
- Perform basic tasks involving physical labor at construction site or shop, including demolition and site prep
- Operate hand power tools of all types appropriate for the task in a safe manner
- Assist other craft workers as needed
- Bring proper tools for the job and complete time card daily with accuracy
- Follow and uphold established safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe and clean work environment
- Utilize proper PPE and safety equipment at all times
- Wear job-appropriate clothing and maintain a professional appearance
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
- General knowledge of standard methods, materials, and equipment utilized in construction demolition and site preparation
- Good knowledge of occupational hazards and the associated safety precautions
- Skill in use and care of variety of hand tools, power tools, and equipment
- Understanding of proper lifting techniques and the ability to ask for assistance when needed
- Ability to perform manual labor for extended periods of time as required by work assignments
- Ability to understand verbal and written instructions
- Ability to organize tasks and ensure on-time task completion
- Ability to execute tasks efficiently
- Strong communication skills with the ability to correspond in an effective and professional manner using written or verbal communication
- Interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team environment
- Ability to use a smart phone efficiently
Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a skilled laborer with demolition experience
- OSHA-10 certification
- Valid commercial driver's license
- Experience managing tool inventory preferred

- You will be required to safely walk, stand, reach with hands and arms, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, see and hear.
- You must be able to safely operate a variety of machinery and equipment including but not limited to hand tools, chipping hammer, jack hammer, sawzall, cordless impact, walk behind floor scraper, walk behind floor scrubber, etc.
- You will be required to regularly execute repetitive movements.
- You will be required to regularly lift, push, pull, or carry heavy objects (up to 50lbs).
- You will be required to climb and maneuver on ladders, scaffolding, and/or in tight spaces.
- You will be required to sustain physical exertion for extended periods of time.

Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, you may be exposed to outside weather conditions at job sites, including wet and/or humid conditions, cold and heat.
- For renovation work, hazardous material or conditions may be present in the existing building.
- Noise level at these sites may be unusually loud at times. Job sites are typically dusty.
