Job Summary and Qualifications Responsible for performing comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders, diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, comprehensive patient care and direct patient education. Responsible for the use of equipment to minimize hazards and maximize patient safety and perform proper operation of all sleep lab equipment, scoring of sleep studies, and preparation of patients for sleep studies. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span, the ability to assess data reflective of the status of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patient. Provides the care needed as described in the policies and procedures of the sleep lab. What qualifications you will need:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
  • High School Graduate / GED
  • Successful completion of an accredited educational program leading to a certificate or associate degree with an emphasis in sleep technology.
  • Current or previous experience in a sleep lab.
  • Must be Registered or Certified as one of the below:
    • Registered as a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT)
    • Certified as a Polysomnographic Technician (CPSGT)
    • Certified Respiratory Therapist with Sleep Disorders Specialty (CRT-SDS)
    • Registered Respiratory Therapist with Sleep Disorders Specialty (RRT-SDS)
    • Registered Sleep Technologist (RST)
