JOB SUMMARY A Sleep Polysomnographic Technician performs comprehensive polysomnographic testing and analysis, and associated interventions under the general supervision of a Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) and/or the clinical director (MD, PhD, DO) or designee. A Polysomnographic Technician can provide supervision of a Polysomnographic TraineeGENERAL REQUIREMENTS Adheres to the hospital and departmental attendance and punctuality guidelines Performs all job responsibilities in alignment with the core values, mission and vision of the organization Performs other duties as required and completes all job functions as per departmental policies and procedures Maintains current knowledge in present areas of responsibility (i.e., self education, attends ongoing educational programs) Attends sta meetings and completes mandatory in-services and requirements and competency evaluations on time. Demonstrates competency at all levels in providing care to all patients based on age, sex, weight, and demonstrated needs. For non-clinical areas, has attended training and demonstrates usage of age- specific customer service skills. Wears protective clothing and equipment as appropriate.WORKING CONDITIONS General environment: Works in a well-lighted, air-conditioned area, with moderate noise levels. May be exposed to high noise levels and bright lights. May be exposed to limited hazardous substances or body uids, or infectious organisms. May be required to change from one task to another of dierent nature without loss of eciency or composure. Periods of high stress and uctuating workloads may occur. May be scheduled as needed including overtime OSHA CATEGORY OSHA Category I - Employees will all be exposed to specic hazards as a regular part of their job.QUALIFICATIONS EDUCATION REQUIREMENTSSuccessful completion of an accredited polysomnography program, or a minimum of 6 months of experience as a Sleep Trainee with documented prociency in all required competencies; or completion of an A-Step accredited course and is eligible for the A-step examination (Required) 4 year / Bachelor's Degree in Health Sciences or related eld (Preferred) EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS 6+ months of direct patient care experience (Required) CERTIFICATIONS AND LICENSURES Required Certications/Licensures: Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)GENERAL SKILLS Organizational Skills Communication Skills Interpersonal Skills Customer Relations Mathematical Analytical Grammar / Spelling Read / Comprehend Written Instructions Follow Verbal Instructions Basic Computer Skills Microsoft Oce Suite General Clerical SkillsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Have good - manual dexterity and eye-hand-foot coordination Ability to perform - repetitive tasks/motionPHYSICAL DEMANDS Standing - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Walking - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Sitting - Frequently within shift (34-66%) Bending/Stooping - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Twist at waist - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Pushing/Pulling - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Lift/carry > 20 lbs with assistance - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Reaching above shoulder - Occasionally within shift (1-33%) Lift/carry > 50 lbs with assistance - Occasionally within shift (1-33%)
