The operator will be responsible forloading/setting up the machine(s) and packing product as needed. RESPONSIBILITIES: •Perform set-up and operate slitting equipment to produce productaccording to quality and productivity requirements •Ensure equipment runs in accordance with operational standards •Perform minor repairs and preventative maintenance as needed •Ensure the correct raw materials are being processed •Maintain a safe working environment by following all companysafety policies and procedures and reports unsafe conditions and incidents •Make adjustment to machines during production by responding toproblems found during visual inspection •Assumes responsibility for the quality and quantity produced onthe machine •Obtains information from the computer, prints and applies labels •Posts production information into the computer and/or requiredproduction logs •Accurately perform and record all required testing •Provide communication on a daily basis with management,maintenance, shift personnel, etc. •Maintain housekeeping standards of slitter and the surroundingarea •Perform packing and material handling tasks as required •Anticipate and react productively to changes, and willinglyhandles other tasks as assigned •Seek and implement improvement activities through teamwork andCI Process participation •Perform other duties as assignedREQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES: •Two or more years slitting experience preferred •Good mechanical ability, including the ability to use rulers,gauges and calipers •Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions commonto working with moving equipment •Effective communications and interpersonal skills to work as ateam member •Ability to work independently and make good decisions withoutconstant supervision •Well-developed work habits to ensure smooth machine operationand minimal downtime •Proficiency with computers; ability to learn and use additionalprograms •Ability to distinguish differences between finished product andproduct specifications •Ability to identify maintenance needs and ensure that allrequired preventive maintenance is performed BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: •High School diploma or equivalent. Two-year technical degreepreferred.
