Description

A Snowmaker operates and maintains snowmaking equipment in order to make quality machine-produced snow. Snowmakers work as a team to create and maintain the best possible snow surface for Resort guests.

Duties & Responsibilities:

* Operate and maintain various snowmaking equipment.

* Practice appropriate and safe snowmaking procedures to produce a high quality of snow.

* Set up, move, monitor, and adjust snowmaking guns.

* Perform minor maintenance oand repairs on snowmaking equipment as needed.

* Ensure no damage to trees, lifts, buildings, vehicles, or the environment occurs.

* Complete necessary paperwork and logs in a timely manner.

* Work in collaboratively with other Mountain Operations departments such as Grooming, Lift Operations, and Terrain Park.

* Comply with all Mountain Operations and Snowmaking safety procedures.

* Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

* Must be at least 18 years of age.

* High school diploma or equivalent.

* Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

* Basic mechanical skills required.

* Must be able to operate snowmobiles or other all-terrain vehicles and passing a driving test.

Work Environment & Physical Requirements:

* Must be able to work and hike for extended periods of time at a high elevation and in inclement, unpredictable and cold weather conditions, at night.

* Must be able to push, pull, or drag up to 150 lbs.

* Must be able to lift or carry objects weighing up to 75 lbs.

* Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and operate controls.

* Auditory, tactile, and visual discrimination are necessary capabilities.
