Overview
As a Snowmaking Control Room Operator, you will monitor and control the snowmaking equipment in a safe and efficient manner. The Control Room Operator position is a mentally demanding and exciting job with many unique perks!
Schedule availability: 7 AM - 7 PM (day) or 7 PM - 7 AM (grave). Weekdays, weekends, holidays. Overtime required.
Responsibilities
After an orientation period and on-the-job training, the successful candidate will be expected to:
* Operate high voltage equipment, high pressure air and water systems utilizing appropriate safety precautions
* Start up, shut down, and monitor pumps and air compressors in a safe and efficient manner
* Work with various computer programs to run equipment and log information
* Perform general maintenance and housekeeping of buildings, equipment, snow guns, and hoses
* Responsible for keeping work area clean and organized
* Unconditionally use the appropriate PPE required for the various types of work to be done
* Report any problems to the appropriate supervisors
* Receive daily work instruction and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
* Be able to communicate what is going on in Snowmaking with other departments
* Be willing to help in other departments during peak periods
* Respect all team members and maintain a positive attitude throughout the shift
* Complete other duties as assigned by management or supervisor with a positive attitude
Qualifications
* Qualified applicants must be at least 18 years old
* Skill level- entry level
* Valid driver's license with no restrictions
* Must be able to communicate fluently in English
* Be able to lift, bend, kneel, and carry up to 75 lbs.
* Basic computer skills
* Able to define problems, establish facts and draw conclusions
* Able to work in a fast-paced, potentially high-pressure environment
* Self-motivated
* Able to work sitting down for extended periods of time, as well as outside in the elements if needed
* Flexible with hours and days of work
* Mush have a positive attitude and willingness to work in a team environment
* All applicants must be familiar with and able to work in harsh winter conditions with extremes of temperature, wind, and precipitation.
Compensation
* Wage ranges from $19-$21 per hour, depending on experience, with opportunities for professional growth and advancement
