Social Services Staff - 1199 SEIU Funds : Job Details

Social services staff have a statutory obligation to safeguard and promote the welfare of vulnerable children and adults and can provide a wide range of services to children and their parents, usually within their own home environment and coordinated by a social worker. Responsibilities may include helping families, individuals, or groups access health insurance, food, housing, quality care, and health information.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED/TASC required; some positions may require a college degree in a health-related field
• NYS certification may be required for some positions

Schedule

• All positions are in hospitals, nursing homes, CBOs, and clinics. These facilities are open 24 hours/7 days each week.
• General shift availability:
  • Days (7a-3p or 8a-4p)
  • Evenings (3p-11p or 4p-12a)
  • Nights (11p-7a or 12a-8a)
• Every other weekend is usually required for all positions.

COVID-19 vaccination is required.
