Dedicated to ensuring dignity, equality, and fairness for over 100 years and the proud recipient of Greater Rochester Association for Women Attorney's 2022 Family Friendly Award!Job Summary:Assist the Attorney for the Child by interviewing and providing support services to clients incases involving child abuse and neglect, custody, visitation, permanent termination of parental rights, paternity, juvenile delinquency, and persons in need of supervision; creating alternative disposition plans for clients; assist with witness preparation and completing court duty and subpoena delivery. Responsibilities Include:
- Interview children and adolescents in a variety of settings (agency office, foster home, home, Family Court, residential placements, etc.) regarding Family Court Proceedings
- Provide home visits and inspections, as needed
- Make telephone contacts to service providers (school, Department of Human Services, etc.), parents, and foster parents to gather/update information and ascertain the status of client
- Transcribe accurate, complete, and detailed progress notes and recommendations to be provided to the Attorney for the Child
- As assigned, make referrals to community resources, and follow up to assure service availability, eligibility, and provision of service
- Orient client to the courtroom and introduce the client to the Attorney for the Child as needed
- Serve subpoenas on an as-needed basis
- Attend and participate in AFC staff meetings and general LASROC all staff meetings/gatherings
- Additional duties assigned at the discretion of the Supervising Social Worker

Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Social Work is preferred or a Bachelor's degree with two years of relevant experience.
- Strong attention to detail and organization
- Respectful and empathetic consideration for clients
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- High level of proficiency with Microsoft 365
- Demonstrate strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and community partners
- Fluent (speaking and writing) in Spanish and English preferred
- Access to reliable transportation
- Ability to work effectively in a remote-work environment (familiarity with technologies involved in a virtual work environment including Microsoft Teams, Zoom, etc. preferred)
