Job Summary:

Medstar Health is looking foraSocial Worker LCSW-Cto join our teamat MedStar Franklin Square Hospital. This is a remote position.The ideal candidate will bealicensedsocial worker withpracticalskills related to psychosocial aspects of illness, as well asEffective interdisciplinary and interpersonal skills for practice and consultation.

TheSocial Worker LCSW-Cwillprovidedirect services to the patients. These services are related to access to health insurance, related social services, hospitalization, dealing with illness, post-hospital planning, andprovidingindividual, family and group therapy, as needed.The incumbent alsoprovidessocial work consultation, leadership and teaching functions for patients, their families/significant others, and the community.Adheres to theNASW (National Association of Social Workers)Code of Ethics and exemplifies the qualities and values of the social work profession. These functions are performedin accordance withall applicable laws and regulations and MedStar's philosophy, policies,procedures,and standards.

Primary Duties:

  • Providesclinical social works services toidentifiedpatients and families. This includes outpatient and inpatient services. Includes individual family and group counselingregardingthe impact of illness and hospitalization.Maintainsappropriate documentationof all patient encounters and records in the EMR.

  • Collaborates with other health care professionals as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Facilitates communicationregardingrelevant psychosocial issues of patients and families to the health care team through recording in medical records (inpatients and outpatient), consultation, and participation in relevant meetings.

  • Functions as a coordinating link between patient, family, hospital, and community resources to assure continuity of care.

  • Participates in orientation training and education programs for students, physicians, nurses, and other health care professionals asrequired.Assumes responsibility foridentifyingtraining needs,locatingresources,and promoting own professional development. Mayprovidesupervision to LGSW-level social workers and or social work student learners.

  • Participates in multidisciplinary quality and service improvement teams asappropriate. Participates in meetings, serves on committees, and represents the department and hospital/facility in community outreach efforts asappropriate. Performs other duties as assigned. Participates in meetings and on committees andrepresentsthe department and hospital in community outreach efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree of Social Work from an accredited training program.

  • 1-2years' experience.

  • License at the LICSW level.

  • Experience working with adults and childrenpreferred.

This position has a hiring range of $72,758 - $123,260
