Hamilton Heights High School is a 3A high school consisting of approximately 700 students located approximately 35 miles NE of Indianapolis. The softball program has enjoyed a winning tradition having won 3 sectionals and 3 regionals over the past 10 years. Qualifications: 1. Ability to organize and oversee all aspects of a successful softball program. 2. Extensive knowledge on the overall game of softball. Ability to breakdown team and opponents' performances for practice and game-planning. 3. Knowledge of proper training and conditioning techniques and ability to effectively articulate and implement said techniques. 4. Strong organization, leadership and communication skills with the ability to form relationships within the school community and work cooperatively with others. 5. Ability to relate with and manage student-athletes. 6. Previous successful coaching experience. Head coaching experience is preferred but not required. 7. Valid Teacher's or Administrators License recommended but not required. Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Oversee all aspects of running an entire softball program. 2. Recruitment of qualified coaches; train and inform staff and encourage professional development within the coaching staff. 3. Delegate specific coaching duties to assistant coaches while promoting positive working relationships and supervise implementation of said duties. Analyze staff effectiveness and evaluate all assistants. 4. Be a positive role model and exhibit model conduct and appearance on and off the field. 5. Communicate expectations, future plans, schedules, events, etc. with players and parents. 6. Monitor the academic progress of all players within the softball program. 7. Ensure the student-athlete has a well-rounded experience including enforcing discipline while helping our student athletes learn necessities of life outside the realm of softball. 8. Develop a positive team culture in which both players and parents understand their role(s) and buy in to the team-first concept. 9. Assist student-athletes in playing at the next level. Make connections with college coaches and explain the process of eligibility and recruiting to players and parents. 10. Work collaboratively with fellow coaches at Hamilton Heights High School to encourage student-athletes to participate in multiple sports. 11. Work collaboratively with APC teachers to enhance athletic development. 12. Build a strong rapport with the players and coaches of the Youth Softball program. 13. Responsible for maintaining good public relations with news media, parents, community, fans, administration and co-workers. 14. Adhere to all school, conference and IHSAA policies and procedures. 15. Ensure that all website and social media information is up to date and accurate while maintaining accurate stats, records and results and dispersing them accordingly (MaxPreps, Hamilton County Reporter, etc.) 16. Organize preseason parent meeting. 17. Maintain equipment inventories and submit inventory and recommendations for improvement before annual evaluation. 18. Coordinate with Athletic Director and document all post season items including but not limited to: post season awards, changes to schedule, assistant coaches meeting and individual player meetings. 19. Demonstrate fiscal responsibility of the annual budget including using approved vendors and working with the Athletic Director on all purchases. 20.
