Job Title: Software Controls EngineerJob DescriptionAs the software control system expert, you will define and develop the software for our gimbal motor control solution from the ground up. Responsibilities include low-level development in C on bare metal processors, understanding system requirements, and selecting the appropriate processor. You will work with brushless DC motors, configure units before shipping and in the field, and contribute to developing an automated configuration process.Hard SkillsMS + 5 years or BS + 8 yearsMinimum of 5 years of embedded C programming (bare metal)Experience architecting software stacks for motor control applications, including processor selectionExperience developing motor control software/firmware, especially FOCRTOS experienceExperience with low-level software for processing digital signals in the 5-15kHz rangeDesigning control systems based on Robust Controls and Adaptive ControlsFFT methods on embedded processorsModi-plot based control methods, loop shaping methodsInertial stabilized productsJob TypePermanent positionWork SiteHybrid position with some days on-site in Hood River, Oregon, and some days remote.
