Categories: Information Technology Job Title: Software Developer Reporting Relationship: Director of Enterprise Applications and Software Development in the Information Technology Department Unit: Central Administration Department: Software Development-Central Administration Campus Location: Maxwell Center Summary of Position: This position is part of a team with a diverse skill set, responsible for improving, researching, analyzing, troubleshooting, and consulting on IT-supported software systems, as well as integrating and developing new and existing software, databases, and reporting solutions in web and/or desktop contexts. Some key languages used are C#, UniBasic, T-SQL, HTML/XML/XSLT, CSS, and Javascript (with emphasis on jQuery and KnockoutJS). Individuals are encouraged to specialize (usually in our ERP or our web apps). Duties and Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and develop:
- Enterprise software and databases
- Reports and utilities
- Interfaces with third party software and systems
- Facilitate communication with clients and coworkers
- Author and maintain documentation
- Complete assignments according to predefined requirements
Qualifications: According to Indiana Wesleyan University employment policy all employees must possess a strong Christian commitment and adhere to the standards outlined in the IWU Community Lifestyle Statement. Education
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field preferred
Experience
- Two (2) years of experience with software development and one year of experience in general database programming
Required Skills
- Microsoft/Apple operating systems, Microsoft Office products, and a specialization in Ellucian Administrative software, report-writing tools or ASP.NET (Web Form and MVC), and/or Git version control system
