Key job responsibilities

Collaborate with experienced cross-disciplinary Amazonians to conceive, design, and bring innovative products and services to market.

Design and build innovative technologies in a large distributed computing environment and help lead fundamental changes in the industry.

Create solutions to run predictions on distributed systems with exposure to innovative technologies at incredible scale and speed.

Build distributed storage, index, and query systems that are scalable, fault-tolerant, low cost, and easy to manage/use.

Design and code the right solutions starting with broadly defined problems.

Work in an agile environment to deliver high-quality software.

A day in the life

Our team works in a highly collaborative environment, not just with other developers, but also with Product Management, QA, UX, Customer Support, and other operations teams. The tools we own are critical to the KDP business, so we work with other dev teams frequently as well.

About the team

We are focused on all aspects of the experience for KDP authors publishing digital content. Practically that means owning a front-end experience to ingest metadata and book content, back-end services to store and process that data, and integrations with publishing workflows downstream to the Amazon store.

Basic Qualifications

- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience

- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience

- Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Preferred Qualifications

- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience

- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
