As a Software Engineer, Site Reliability (SRE) at Kensho, you will ensure that Kensho's services, both internally-critical and customer-facing, have reliability and uptime based on users' expectations. You will work closely with our team of Infrastructure and Application Engineers to come up with scalable solutions. You will also be working with Technical Architects, Product and Engineering Managers and Application Developers to ensure stability and identify critical improvements.

Kensho states that the anticipated base salary range for the position is 140k-175k. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual incentive bonus and equity plans. At Kensho, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
What You'll Do:
You will run and stabilize Kensho's production services that support critical financial applications and backend processes
You will monitor, maintain and help scale services that are integrated into S&P's platform
You will manage end-to-end availability and performance of critical services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence
You will add, tune and maintain alert configurations and documentation as needed
You will design and build advanced automated operational and deployment frameworks alongside tooling and infrastructure to help engineering teams measure and increase their velocity
You will cultivate full-team participation in high quality, thoughtful software
You will participate in on-call/production support
You will develop/adapt tools and applications to automate tasks
What You'll Need:
SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT EXPERIENCE developing/building a scalable application is necessary.
You have 4+ years of experience.
You have strong experience with coding and debugging and have developed a large application/service.
You are fluent in any two or more modern programming languages (Python, Java, Go, C++, etc.)
You demonstrate a practical understanding of algorithms, data structures, and design patterns.
You also have DevOps experience and can demonstrate skills in engineering and supporting production services in a modern, containerized cloud environment.
Scalable testing, automation, continuous integration frameworks and best practices
