Position Overview:
MNL is a leader in solar re-vegetation services, leading the industry in successfully establishing and managing pollinator friendly plant communities on over 10,000 acres of ground mounted solar power generating facilities throughout the Midwest. We are seeking a dedicated individual to lead the front-end sales and maintain client relationships in this dynamic and rapidly expanding business sector.
The successful candidate will promote the growth of sales focused on pollinator friendly solar projects integrating all MNL divisions by building meaningful relationships with Solar project Owners, Developers, Contractors, EPC's and other stakeholders. This role will support the sales growth of all that MNL has to offer the solar energy industry and its wide ranging vegetation establishment goals. This position could be performed largely remote with some in person office time expected, especially during onboarding.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify, foster, build and maintain long-term relationships with solar developers, operators and Owners, who are aligned with MNL's Mission to Heal the Earth. This will require regular interstate travel.
- Gather and filter information and documents in support of solar pricing opportunities for MNL's various divisions.
- Act as the conduit between clients and MNL representatives in developing thorough work proposals that ensure the client's and MNL's needs are met; conducting the necessary follow-up; and pursuing additional opportunities.
- Successfully organize all pertinent project details to transfer contracted sales and services to various MNL divisions, and actively follow up to ensure the quality of our results.
- Represent MNL by networking, speaking and otherwise engaging directly with industry representatives at solar industry related conferences, meetings and organizations nationwide.
- Occasionally perform other business development related to Energy: wind, pipeline, etc.
- Project site scouting and/or evaluations of work performed and project outcomes.
- Work with MNL's marketing team on solar-specific marketing needs.
- Pursue new and emerging industry opportunities as they arise.
Required Qualifications:
- Highly motivated self-starter.
- Detailed knowledge of the solar energy production industry.
- Team leader with ability to work across numerous Divisions.
- Extensive experience in originating, negotiating and managing customer agreements from initiation to complete execution.
- Tenacity to follow leads long term, often over multiple years.
- Personable and effective communicator to a variety of clients as well as coworkers.
- Sales goal oriented: see business development through from initial outreach to contract.
- Ability to fully understand and articulate MNL's capabilities and offerings in order to sell partnership opportunities.
- Demonstrated success with living the company's values of passion for the mission to Heal the Earth, positivity, craftsmanship, grit, and innovation.
Physical Requirements:
- This job may require prolonged periods of sitting at a desk, working on a computer, driving and/or walking or standing to a significant degree on rough terrain and in various weather conditions.
- Flexible business hours Monday - Friday based on projects. Time subject to change based on work/project needs; hours of work may include some early morning, evenings and weekends.
- Able to travel to various work sites, corporate office settings and industry related conferences as needed, including overnight travel.
- Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, reach, and move as needed to complete various light field work as needed.
Compensation:
- $90,000 - $120,000 base pay (salary) + commission potential
