Idaho National Laboratory is hiring a Solutions Architect to work in our Information Technology department. Our team works a 9x80 schedule located out of our Idaho Falls, Idaho facility with every other Friday off. Remote or Hybrid work opportunities may be available for this position. You will report to the Manager of Application Development & Database Services. You will design IT architecture solutions for business problems according to the enterprise architecture direction and standards. Responsibilities Include:
- Design system architecture, which may include cloud environments. Coordinate design and integration of complete solutions including multiple commercial and custom subsystems.
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of new technologies required to provide long-term enhancements to the reliability, performance, and functionality of system architecture.
- Manage the planning and installation of software for INL systems. Work with partners and data owners/stewards to identify requirements and expected outcomes. Develop customizations to integrate applications and federate services across multiple organizations.
- Responsible for technical planning, architecture development, and modification of specifications that meet performance, scalability, reliability, security, and other needs. Use engineering knowledge and principles to analyze and assess INL software systems. Provide support to technical resources during execution of projects.
- Provide technical direction and mentoring for junior staff to increase their skills. Coach members of IT in the effective use of standards and tools within the established architecture.
- Document best practices of software engineering and software-defined services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Minimum Requirements:
- Level 4 - Bachelor of Science degree in technical field including Computer Engineering or Engineering Technology 9 years of related experience or a Masters degree and 6 years of related experience.
- 15 years of minimum experience may be substituted in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated experience in web development using C# .Net 6+ using MVC and Razor
- Demonstrated experience with Microsoft SQL databases
- Experience with React JS
- Experience with Object Relational Models such as Dapper, LINQ to SQL or Entity Framework
- Professional experience architecting and designing solutions for complex business systems
- Experience integrating vendor/cloud software with in-house systems
- Experience deploying to and administering Azure app services or AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service)
- Experience with application identity workflows such as SAML or OIDC
- Experience with Kubernetes
- This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy Q clearance, which requires US Citizenship.
Desired Experience:
- Experience mentoring others and leading technical tasks.
- Experience using Jira or similar tool.
- Experience with continuous integration, and deployment using Azure DevOps.
- Experience with Agile, Scrum and Kanban development methodologies.
- Experience with Typescript
- Experience with Bootstrap.
Job Information:
- The pay range for this position is ($109,260 - $223,908 ). At Idaho National Laboratory compensation decisions are determined using factors such as education, relevant experience, and other credentials.
