Solutions Engineer - Hurdlr : Job Details

Hurdlr's HQ is in Washington, DC, in the eclectic Adams Morgan neighborhood. Two-thirds of our team members, including the co-founders, are in the office 5 days a week, and we're looking to bring on a solutions engineering teammate who embraces the opportunity to collaborate with teammates in our AdMo-based HQ.

Many financial technology (FinTech) companies are building products that leverage Hurdlr's Embedded Accounting APIs and SDKs; over 1.2M users are leveraging said products. Hurdlr's team aids these FinTechs in how to leverage our APIs and SDKs to build these products. Hurdlr's Engineering team interfaces directly with the FinTech's engineers and Hurdlr's Customer Success team interfaces directly with the FinTech's customer support teams.

Solutions Engineering at Hurdlr is very unique in that the Solutions Engineer would be contributing equally between client interactions and software development. We're looking for an enthusiastic, quick, and passionate engineer who is (or is interested in becoming) an expert at:

• Interfacing with technical clients (PMs and engineers)
• Interpreting and answering technical client inquiries
• Digging into enhancement requests to determine feasiblity
• Determining the root cause of reported bugs, and resolving them or determining what resources would be required to resolve
• Crafting creative solutions to complex problems
• Reading and writing technical documentation (see
• Developing tools to further evangelize Hurdlr's API and SDK

The following qualifications should help build confidence in the ability to grow into the above responsibilities:

• 3 to 10 years of experience as a software engineer
• Proven background reading and utilizing API documentation/reference
• Strong writing skills
• Passion to teach/help developers to build products and/or lead teams
• Experience performing QA
• Ability to translate technical verbiage to a non-technical audience
• Ability to translate non-technical verbiage to a technical audience
• Experience engaging with a B2B client
