BASIC PURPOSEThe Purpose of the Sorter/Donation Processor is to prepare donations for retail sale or salvage according to Salvation Army policy and production procedures.B. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFollow procedure as it pertains to sorting, cleaning, preparing, shipping and receiving donated items for saleKeep donation area clean and without debrisSorting donations of clothing, furniture, electrical and miscellaneous household itemsLoading donations for truck deliveryAdhere to all safety policies as it pertains to loading and unloading of trucksFollow all accident and injury reporting proceduresMaintain a clean and organized receiving and processing areaDetermine which items are saleable, repairable or salvageableOther duties as assignedAdhere to proper dress code, with uniform as designated by direct SupervisorC. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTSEducational RequirementsHigh School diploma or General Education degree (GED): or one or two months of related job experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.Must complete and follow all safety training requirements provided by immediate Supervisor.D. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Ability to lift, bend, and stoopAbility to walk, climb and/or balanceAbility to lift-up and/or move 25 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 lbs.Specific vision abilities required by this job include distance peripheral, vision, and depth perception.Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation.
