Sorter - Silgan Containers Corporation : Job Details

Perform depalletizer changeovers - Verify sorting accuracy - Visually check quality of tin plate sheets and ends - Coordinate with Forklift drivers about sortable/non sortable cans - Maintain HFI area - Fix random tag issues. Voids, held by mistakes, hold for inspection, etc - Operate the depalletizer (sorting machine) - Assist Quality Manager daily as necessary - Assist Production Supervisor daily as necessary - Sort plain & coated tinplate sheets as required - Package bundles of tinplate sheets as required for transporting after sorting - Maintain detailed daily records of all sorting activities - Move tinplate bundles around facility as required utilizing forklift truck - Responsible for housekeeping of sort area workspace and as assigned in other plant areas - Perp sorting work for other shifts as needed - Assist in the Coil, Coater and Shipping departments as directed by supervision - Prepare all sorted sheets (identified as scrap) for outside shipment.
