Position Summary:

Ajax/CECO/Erie Press is seeking a Contract Sourcing Agent to join our team. The Contract Sourcing Agent locates and approves qualified resources, requests and evaluates quotations, and places orders with suppliers for raw materials, machining, and fabrication. In this role they will also provide status updates of outsourced parts; expedites the parts as required, to satisfy requirements and measures/evaluates supplier performance. There could be further opportunities to assist in the estimating and quotation of contract machining and/or fabrication orders.

Job Duties:

- Locates, approves/denies suppliers using the established Supplier Certification Program, including pre-approval visits as well as other data collection methods.

- Prepares RFQs and submits to possible sources through a variety of communication methods.

- Works with quality suppliers to reduce costs/lead time at any time in the purchasing process as needed to meet cost and delivery initiatives.

- Maintains rapport with suppliers to keep abreast of changes affecting purchasing or impacts to the business.

- Supplies all required documentation needed for the supplier and ACE to satisfy all procedural and contractual requirements.

- Evaluates quotations and places orders for parts and/or services with qualified suppliers, obtaining quality at a price at or below the estimate while meeting delivery requirements. Evaluation consists of determining the lowest total costs.

- Maintains knowledge of and continuously communicates across necessary departments eth current market pricing on commodities where prices are fluctuating including but not limited to commodities such as metals, castings, and forgings.

- Monitors suppliers by visiting, calling, emailing, or any other legal means to check the performance of the supplier during the contract.

- Maintains and evaluates supplier performance data in the ERP system.

- Assists in the quotation and management of Contract Machining orders.

- Interfaces with both internal and external customers as needed.

- Attends order entry and other meetings as needed, or assigned, which provide information on scheduling and work to be outsourced.

- International and Domestic travel to evaluate and approve suppliers, order status, etc.

- Obtains legal advice, as required.

- Attends seminars and other training that is purchasing or outsourcing related.

- Attends shows and exhibits for the purpose of locating or identifying new suppliers.

- Effective time management and prioritization of work.

What you need to be successful:

- Technical Degree, Associate's Degree or equivalent experience

- 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Sub-Contract, or Purchasing
