The Cynwyd Club, one of Philadelphia Main Lines' premier private members clubs, is seeking an experienced and creative Sous Chef that has prime management skills. The Sous Chef position oversees most of the kitchen staff and must be able to manage the kitchen on a day-to-day basis. As Sous Chef, you will deal with quality control issues, management of kitchen personnel, be attentive to detail, solve any conflict resolution and must have a consistent drive to deliver and ensure member and outside business satisfaction. Essential Duties and Responsibilities will consist of, yet not be limited to the following: Be responsible for working in conjunction with the Executive Chef in coordination, preparation and supervision of all A la Carte and Banquet service operations. Work in conjunction with management staff to plan for all private and member events. Coordinate with the Executive Chef on monthly food inventory and food ordering. Create daily specials and expedite them accordingly. Assist in developing quarterly and seasonal menus. Assist in evaluating food costs to maintain the proper level of profit margin as determined by the Executive Chef and Management. Assist in ensuring that all good kitchen practices of operation are always maintained, including proper food preparation and storage as stated by the Montgomery Board of Health's standards and execute continued kitchen cleanliness. Must have a current ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification. Ability to work flexible schedule as business dictates; hours of employment will include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Maintain standards and practices as set by the Executive Chef. Adhere to any duties, as set forth, by the Executive Chef and Management that may be necessary for the success of the operation. Be available and willing to work 40 plus hours per week, with late night and early morning hours required. The annual base salary for this position is between 60,000 and $70,000 to be paid on a bi-weekly basis by direct deposit.
