Job DetailsJob LocationMission Viejo, Laguna Niguel and San Juan Capistrano Area - Laguna Niguel, CAPosition TypePart TimeSalary Range$17.72 - $21.98 HourlyDescriptionThe YMCA currently has Full-time and Part-time childcare Teacher positions available in South Orange County.The key roles of the Teacher position include:

• Plan, implement, and oversee curriculum-aligned activities for participants, including homework assistance, social-emotional learning, arts and crafts, STEM/STEAM, and physical education.
• Foster youth success through mentorship, guidance, and encouragement, actively encouraging program engagement and participation.
• Communicate and work effectively with participants, staff, parents, school personnel, and community partners.
• Record and maintain daily attendance and other documentation as required.
• Preferred availability
  • Opening shifts- 6:30am to 8:00am
  • Part-time shifts- 1:30pm to 6:00pm
  • Full-time positions also available

QualificationsRequirements & Experience for Teacher

• Be over the age of 18
• Experience working with children ages 5-12, in a daycare, after-school program, or camp required. (6 months for Teacher 2 and 1 year for Teacher 3
• Teacher 2: 12 units in Child Development or a related field.
• Teacher 3: 12 college units with 6 units in Child Development an/or Education. 6 units may be in Psychology, Sociology, Recreation, Physical Education, Art, and Music. 15-hour preventative health practice certifications within 90 days of employment. Complete YMCA Core trainings within first 60 days of employment.
