Reports to: Spa ManagerJob SummaryThe spa esthetician position is responsible for performing spa services at Hawkeye Spa in the manner trained by Otesaga Resort Hotel. The esthetician is an integral member of the team who creates memorable and authentic experiences for our guests. This position is eligible for 18% commission on each treatment plus gratuities.Essential Job FunctionsTo successfully perform this job, an individual must perform each essential duty listed below. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this job.Provide guests with thorough and knowledgeable professional skin care treatmentsPerform services keeping guest satisfaction as priorityProperly care for equipment and use proper amounts of product (back bar) to assist with cost controlsPromote and sell retail productsAnswer guests calls, make reservations and check guests in and out of the spaBegin and end all treatments on time, adhering to bookingsClean and sanitize work area and equipment as per departmental policiesRemove all soiled linen from treatment room(s) and deposit in designated areaOperate all tools and equipment needed to perform services safelyStock and organize treatment room(s) with appropriate linens and suppliesPrepare material and supplies for daily operationsParticipate in maintaining neatness of service waiting areasRestock linens for use in the treatment roomsEnsure the privacy of each guestEducation: High school diploma or general education degree (GED)Required Experience:The person in this position needs to:Possess a valid New York State esthetician licenseKnowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesAbility to work weekends & holidays as requiredProficient in all areas of skin care in accordance with spa protocols and accepted certification practices.Strong knowledge of spa servicesSound knowledge of merchandisingExcellent organizations and time management skillsKnowledge of various allergy restrictionsPossess basic math and written skills and ability to operate PMS systemMaintain professional presentation (must adhere to company and department dress code)Ability to upsellOutstanding guest service skillsAbility to clearly communicate both verbally and in writingPhysical Requirements:These physical requirements for this position may be accomplished with or without reasonable accommodations.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, and/or move for extended periods of time (approximately 8 to 10 hours), twist at the neck and trunk, bend at the waist and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, reach overhead, above shoulders and horizontally. Employees will frequently use hands to handle objects and tools and operate service equipment. The employee must regularly lift and/or move/push/pull up to 30 pounds. The employee will also f requently ascend and descend stairs when moving between the spa and front desk and guestrooms. Vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision. Employees may use vision to monitor spa product quality and quantity.Work Conditions: The position will be required to work weekend, and holiday hours. While performing the duties of this job, the employee generally works in an indoor environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually low but may be moderate dependent on specific work site and/or equipment operation.
