Apex Space is seeking an exceptional individual to oversee our Production organization and our Spacecraft assembly and test operations. You will take ownership of the ramp-up to high production volumes of aerospace assemblies ensuring unwavering quality, efficiency, and strict compliance. Your expertise will be vital in optimizing our manufacturing processes and driving the team towards achieving our mission of advancing space exploration.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the skilled technician organization performing the full assembly of the spacecraft.
  • Lead and manage the Engineering organization supporting production (Manufacturing/Integration Engineering and Test Engineering).
  • Develop and implement robust production strategies and plans that align with our aggressive targets, ensuring the delivery of high-quality products on time and within budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Engineering and Supply Chain to optimize production processes, resolve technical issues, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Leadership team to establish and manage budgets, resource allocation, and capacity planning, supporting the scaling of production volumes and future growth.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies, tools, and methodologies to improve production capabilities, reduce costs, and increase overall efficiency.
  • Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovative ideas and initiatives that drive enhanced product quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful production leadership, preferably within the aerospace or automotive industry.
  • In-depth knowledge of mechanical and avionics assembly processes, with proficiency in utilizing relevant tools, equipment, and technologies.
  • Strong understanding of quality management systems, lean manufacturing principles, and continuous improvement methodologies.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative, accountable, and innovative work environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven track record of achieving production targets, reducing costs, and improving overall operational efficiency.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and safety standards applicable to aerospace manufacturing.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and business needs in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
