NoCounty AlbanyStreet Address NYS DMV Fiscal Administration6 Empire State Plaza - Swan Street BuildingCity AlbanyState NYZip Code 12228Minimum Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:- Seven years of full-time professional work experience in public policy, public administration in relation to public policies, procurement and/or financing, energy management, financial resource management, real estate as it relates to property and lease management, capital projects, and/or strategic planning; or- An Associate's Degree and five years of the required experience as described above; or- A Bachelor's Degree and three years of the required experience as described above; or- A Master's Degree and two years of the required experience as described above.Preferred Qualifications:- An advanced degree in urban planning, environmental policy, public administration, public policy, law, or a closely related field preferred, as well as experience in issues relating to resiliency, climate change, sustainability goals, the built environment, energy, and/or urban planning.- Excellent project management skills with the ability to independently coordinate and lead multiple projects simultaneously with a focus on quality and project follow-through.- Demonstrated experience developing projects, leading projects through ambiguity, adapting to change and shifting priorities.- Ability to work autonomously and manage multiple projects and maintain control of analytical details while balancing large-scale program objectives.- Experience with managing public procurement processes, defining scopes of work, and/or managing teams of consultants.- Excellent communication skills, organizing and leading team meetings and executive level report outs.- Experience with the structure of DMV, its programs, offices, and operations.- Innovative thinker.Duties Description Duties include, but are not limited to:- Serve as the agency liaison to GreenNY council and attend GreenNY/EO 22 activities; will be the primary contact point for all communications to and from the council and report on all relevant metrics- Develop and maintain a multi-disciplinary Sustainability Team for the agency with representation from across Divisions and business units- Participate in capital project planning and implementation for larger sustainability projects, coordinate inputs from key stakeholders and draft proposals for Executive/Budget review.- Identify projects, policies, and procedures to green operations, comply with directives, and increase efficiencies and cost-savings.- Establish indicators for sustainability that will enable monitoring, reporting and continuous improvement of sustainability initiatives of the organization.- Track sustainability progress and provide periodic updates to management on successes and challenges.- Take initiative to learn about the most current products, technologies, and sustainable green methods for facility operations, new construction, and procurement.- Lead sustainability-related competitions and events within the agency (e.g., Green Your Commute Day, Earth Day activities, Daylight Hour, etc.) - Periodic executive level report outs, including updates on program progress or potential program pitfalls.- Promote sustainability within DMV.Additional Comments Hours of the position will be discussed at the time of interview, including questions regarding Flextime, AWS/Compressed work week and Telecommuting.Some positions may require additional credentials or a background check to verify your identity.Name Jessica TownselTelephoneFaxEmail Address [email protected] NYS DMV Fiscal Administration6 Empire State Plaza - Swan Street BuildingCity AlbanyState NYZip Code 12228Notes on Applying Please submit a cover letter (referencing the Vacancy ID noted at the top of this posting) indicating how you meet the qualifications for appointment.
