Garza Middle SchoolDate Available: 04/08/2024 REPORTS TO: Campus Principal/ Educational Diagnostician APPLICATION DEADLINE: Open Until FilledLENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 187 days DATE REVISED AUG 27, 2015 WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Non-Exempt SALARY RANGE: $15.51 Minimum $23.30 Maximum PAY GRADE: PS2PRIMARY PURPOSE: The Special Education Campus Clerk is directly accountable to the Campus Principal and Educational Diagnostician and completes assignments for the Special Education Diagnostician, Special Education Director, Special Education Supervisor, and Special Education Campus Department Chairman. QUALIFICATIONS: TEA certification requirements High School Graduate or GED Must have a valid Texas driver's license and have a vehicle Thirty (30) semester hours of college credit with some emphasis on child development or related areas; or a minimum of three years' experience working directly with children or youth, as appropriate, in instructional or child care facilities; and documented on-going in-service or other staff development activities related to the education of the handicapped Ability to work with school personnel, students, and the general public Ability to type 30 wpm Ability to communicate cooperatively with school personnel, students, and parents Ability to operate a computer and knowledge or experience with database software Ability to manage time and organize work Proficient in Spanish MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Same as for Special Education paraprofessional. Schedules Admission Review and Dismissal meetings. Recorder for ARD Committee meetings and completes ARD reports by the end of each meeting. Assists in securing forms and eligibility reports for re-evaluations. Verifies all attendance, withdrawals, and PEIMS records. Secures written progress reports, under the direction of the student's special education homeroom teacher. Dispenses information to campus teachers and other staff. Attends and/or assists with in-service presentations, parent training, or other special education meetings. Maintains accurate and up-to-date lists of homeroom teacher assignments for students. Maintains accurate records of special education students on campus. Assures proper attendance at ARD meetings (example: Diagnostician for assessment, VIrepresentative for visually impaired, AI representative for auditory impaired, and Vocational representative for vocational needs.) Acts as an interpreter, as needed. Makes home visits, as requested. Assists with medical eligibility forms from the doctor and brings them back to diagnostician if needed. Checks on the special education No Show list. Assists diagnostician with campus compliance (Snapshot, ARD, FIE's, New to District, SOP, inventory) New to District intake. Supervises special education students. Assists diagnostician as needed. Performs all duties in a safe manner to avoid injury to oneself and/or to others. Performs other related duties as assigned.
